Exploratory Data Analysis - Global Terrorism

 

Task : 

• Performing Exploratory Data Analysis on a Global Terrorism dataset.

• The tool used is Tableau.

• Creating different visualizations to analyze the dataset, its trends and statistics and further creating Dashboard to showcase and compare attributes depending on various different aspects.

• Using this insights from the data, creating a Storyboard to showcase the areas for improvement in order to increase Security/Defense of the Country.

Sharing a glimpse of my dashboard / storyboard through a small video to showcase some of the insights drawn from analyzing this dataset.

Insights / Conclusion :

• Hot zone of terrorism is Iraq with 24636 Attacks
• Maximum Number of Attacks were done by using Bombing/Explosion followed by Armed Assault and so on.
• Terrorist mostly attack Private Citizen & Property.
• Maximum Attacks were done by Unknown Gang . We need to identify the gang and take measures to tackle them.
• 61525 kids were taken hosted during attacks .
• Out of 61525 kids, 50,880 were released.
• Total Ransom Terrorist Demanded was 4231238496.
• Success Rate of Attack  88.96% which is very high and this needs to be addressed.
